Spanish language – Verb To Go

Hi there! Today I will be talking about a very irregular verb in Spanish language. The verb IR whose equivalent in English is TO GO and in French it is ALLER.

When conjugating this verb in the present tense, it dramatically changes from the infinitive form IR to others. You can see below such conjugations:

IR – TO GO
Yo voy —— I go
Tú vas ——You go
Usted va ——You go
Él va ——He goes
Ella va ——She goes

Nosotros vamos ——We go
Ustedes van ——You go
Ellas van ——They go
Ellos van ——They go

I suggest this exercise in order to practice conjugating this verb in present tense.

Ahora todos mis vecinos __________ a ver un juego de futbol de la Eurocopa. El equipo ganador _______ a ser el campeón. Todos los jugadores ____ a luchar por la victoria y el espectáculo _______ a ser emocionante. Después del juego yo _________ reunirme con mis amigos, ellos _______ a hacer una fiesta sorpresa para nuestro profesor de informática. El día ____ a ser muy interesante.

Por la noche mi esposa no _____ a cocinar porque hoy ella y yo _______ al mejor restaurante del barrio.

Now all of my neighbors __________ to watch a soccer game from the European Cup. The winning team __________ to be the champion. All players __________ Fight for winning and the show __________ to be exciting. After the game I __________ meet my Friends, they __________ make a surprise party for our computer science teacher. The day __________ to be very interesting.

At night mi wife and I __________ to cook because today she and I __________ to the best restaurant in the neighborhood.
